new game show idea: quien es mas stinky?
i have challenged the crew to a smelliness match, and i feel sure that i will win. it is ridiculous how badly i have been smelling. they assure me that they smell, too, but no one has taken me up on the game, so i think they know i would win.
i feel surprisingly peppy for walking 17.2 miles! i am having NO problems with blisters, thankfully. other people have real horrorshows going on with their feet.
i am in larrasoana. because that name is so hard to pronounce, pilgrims have been calling it the L-town. it is lovely, and nestled into beautiful rolling hills. i know they are rolling because i rolled up and down every one! i couldn´t fall asleep last night so i ended up taking my backpack to the basement of the monastery (where the bathrooms and showers are) and chose a few more things that will be mailed back home from pamplona, where i will be tomorrow. oh no-my minutes have run out! i promise to write more at my next opportunidad
again, thank you for all the prayers. etc. you don´t know how much they mean.

Anne: You sound like you are sailing through this marathon hike with no problems. You still have your sense of humor and un-blistered feet. When you have some time - tell us a little about your crew. We don't need to know how much, or how little, you or anyone else smells. Are there interesting people along the way? Are the refugios comfortable? The food substantive? The swallows have returned to our garage from their pilgrimage, and we are thinking of you. Much love, Y/M&D

So you walked 17.2 miles ... and then couldn't fall asleep? Hard to imagine, but I'll bet you and the crew were glad to find that the monastery had showers!
Bravo! To your feet!! Hip hip HOORAAAY!
Love, hugs, E.

I told you not to get rid of the soap! Hopefully the shower felt good. Here's to more blister-less miles in your wonderful boots and hopefully more showers so you're not the winner of the new game show.

All that training is paying off -- I mean on the hiking 17 miles without blisters, not on the stinkiness!

Well, the first week has slipped by. It's hard to believe! (Maybe not so much for you.) We think of you everyday: your pack on your back, your boots on your feet, and your face wearing its usual sweet smile. You haven't mentioned the weather, so I assume it is sunny and mild, maybe with a gentle breeze. Just the perfect day to take an 18 or 20 mile walk. Much love, Y/M&D
