From Lorca with Love
I am sitting in a cafe attached to an albuerge, sipping a fresh-squeezed lemonade and thanking my lucky starts for all of you. I have read the comments, and they made me smile and laugh, and think of how much i love you all. if i add telling you that there is classical music playing in the background, you will probably feel jealous. well, guess what, you could still come join me! what i haven´t mentioned yet is that i limped in here, and am not sure if i will continue to my intended goal of estella, about another 8 kilometers. we will see if i perk up at all, or rather if my knees perk up. just a few kilometrs ago i ate my lunch on a medieval bridge with 2 french women. they have been doing the camino in stages for the last 5 years. but , they are mother and daughter, and the daughter told me that the mom is 68 years old right now, so they plan on finishing it (going to santiago) next year. they startd 5 years ago in france. many of the french people start way before st. jean pied de port, where i started. there are so many lovely people who do the camino. i guess grouchy people aren´t drawn to walk the camino. i was kind of grumpy the other morning and i had a terrible thought- I am the grouch of the canino!! it´s me! i had a low moment the other day and was so lucky to be able to talk to my dear husband. it gave me strength. the comments and guest book also give me strength, believe me. as i walked through field after field of olive trees and grapevines i thought of all my wonderful family and friends and how lucky i have all of you. bless you bless you bless you all. and please keep those prayers and good thoughts coming. to my knees especially. i am going to sign off briefly, just to be sure this gets posted and to make sure no one is waiting. i have lots more to tell you, though, so hopefully i will post more today.

Sending all kinds of love to you and especially your knees, who have carried you so far already.
(And doubled over laughing at the very idea of Annie the Grouch of the Camino.)

Just read a whole bunch of episodes covering new companions, sleeping arrangements, sore knees, and beautiful sights and places. Your perserverance and your enjoyment are a balm to a somewhat anxious parent. You are never far from our thoughts, and as to feeling competitive....hmmm, where on earth did that come from? Much love, Y/M&D
