my head, and the rest of me, in the clouds
today´s walk was A-MAZING!!! when i awoke, once again i wasn´t sure if i could walk today, but i remembered that after about an hour my knees seem to warm up and do just fine. and i am certainly not the only one who hobbles a bit as they walk. so as i was getting set to go, who walked up but my cockney camino friends. i was sooooo happy to see them because the last time i saw them they were looking for medical attention for peter, who had an infection in his leg that was very painful, and potentially dangerous. so off i went, starting teh day with those two. they stopped for coffee at the next village, and i was able to walk alone and just sing, sing, sing. it is so fun to be walking in the woods singing my heart out. i will write an entry just about the songs at some point, although all my agape brothers and sisters can probably guess the ones i sing the most often
anwyay, today´s walk, according to the guide book/map, was through mountains. a fine, light mist was in the air, not quite enough to have me break out my parka, but enough to make each breath sweet and wet. after i left the villages behind and started going up, i realized that i was walking right into a cloud. soon after the beginning ot the ascent, there was a map identifying the mountains visible from that point. what was reallly visible was cloud, cloud and more cloud! the forest was silent, and you couldn´t see anyone else unless they were 10 feet ahead of you. how magical! i have seen so many gorgeous panoramas, that this cloud-walking seemed to be a rare gift, and one that i will certainly treasure. the whole day was in the mountains, so it was just a magical day. everyonce in a while i would come upon a pilgrim or two sitting an a rock by the side of the road having a snack, but mostly, i was alone, singing. some bicyclists came by and one looked back with an appreciative smile and said ´my bonito´, which i think referred to the beautiful song in the misty mountain morning. just a lovely, lovely day.
this day has ended well, also: i have found the best shower in spain. it is here, in a tiny, and i mean tiny, town, called ages. ithe water is hot, unlimited (sometimes you put in a euro and then the water cuts out after 5 minutes-you better be done, and there is NO warning!), it has a fixed shower head like we have in america, and, now this is really a luxury-there is a bath mat!!!! ahhhh, all that for just a couple of euros more than the municipal albuerge just down the street. i am glad i splurged!
so only about an hour until dinner. i am thinking of you. you have no idea how much your comments mean to me. the first thing i do each day as i walk is say and sing my prayers for all of you. sending you loads and loads of love from the clouds
peace and blessings-

Honey it does sound absolutely amazing. What an incredible journey you are on. Keep it up and take care - how about taking a day to rest and recoup? Remember Tucker expressed some concern about your ability to take him on hikes when you get home.
